Natural Hair is Taking Over!

Cordelia

In an era where one’s hair can be changed as quickly as an outfit, there is one way of hair styling that seems to have stood the test of time.Wearing “natural hair” is a term defined by maintaining the original state of ones hair, void of any bleaching, coloring or heating mechanisms. It is one of the oldest styling techniques and goes as far back as ancient Egypt. As technology has advanced, so has our ability to do just about everything to our hair accept setting it on fire. Imagine waking up in a world wear Rogaine, flat irons, perms and hair dyes didn’t exist. I’m sure some wouldn’t have a problem with the adjustment because they are used to working with their natural hair, while other may cut it all off in frustration.

Most women wear natural hair because It’s quick and easy but as simplistic as wearing your own hair might seem, there is quite a bit of work that goes into it. To prevent dry ends and scalp most women apply a moisturizer to seal in moisture, while others “Rock The Fro” , with no moisturizers at all. Some also opt for African braiding techniques like corn rolls and dreads.

Yet and still there’s plenty of scary things people do to their hair. Chris Rock’s film “Good Hair”, has a terrifying scene about the effect of perm on a can of soda and that was enough to scare me straight. Studies have shown the dangerous effects of acidic perms on the hair and scalp but it is only mentioned on the back of the box, and much like cigarettes, it is a risks most have been willing to take for its outcome.

“Wearing my hair natural really helps me to live my life more freely, I don’t have to worry about chemicals, or weaves. It helps me to bring out my natural beauty and shows people the real me”, said Cordelia Ford

Hair isn’t just a fashion statement anymore, it seems now it represents how you want the world to see you. But then again at the end of the day it’s just hair and you are the captain of your own ship. Whether it’s a matter of convenience or simply the economy forcing people to cut down on hair treatments, one thing is for sure people are getting very creative at working with what they have the natural way. There are products on the market to help you go natural or repair you hair from past damages and hundreds of brands for each type of hair, it just takes a little bit of experimenting and a lot of patience and fun.

  2. Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the internet the simplest
thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they just do not
know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the
top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

  3. I’ve been surfing on-line greater than three hours these days, but I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It’s lovely worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made excellent content as you did, the web might be a lot more useful than ever before.
